Danger On RBB

Dear Editor,

We’ve had a safety issue from Beach 73 to Beach 81 Streets for quite some time now. I have written D.O.T. and requested an additional street light, proper syncing and even asked for a median with all of the capital improvement going on. I have met with both council members along with the pastor of St. John’s Baptist Church and a board member from Dayton Towers and we are not an inch closer to getting this dangerous condition addressed. In the area we have a public school and crossing guards who fear the speeding dollar vans as well as other speedsters who turn the one lane into two.

The streets are unleveled, filled with potholes and almost appear to be caving in. In the very near future the YMCA will be open with families and young children converging on this recreational facility and a disaster is on the horizon if not corrected. If you want first hand experience send your reporters to the corner of Beach 73 and Beach 74 in the morning around 8 a.m. and in the afternoon around 3 p.m. and try your luck crossing the street.
