St. Camillus Students Learn About Bees
On Wednesday March 28, St. Camillus School students in kindergarten and the first and second grades visited the Queens County Farm to learn about bees and how honey is made. The students asked many good questions during the presentation. The students then made candles out of bees wax to take home. They followed step-by-step instructions and learned to roll a piece of wax into a candle. After the presentation, Mrs. Cerrone, Ms. Geary, Mrs. Greer, parent chaperones and the students visited many farm animals including goats, sheep, pigs, cows, geese and chickens, and saw a real beehive.
