Rockapulo Run Presents Clare Fund Run
The Rockapulco Run series will hold The Clare Fund Run on Saturday, April 14 at the boardwalk on Beach 95 Street.
The 5K Run/Walk or 10K Run, which starts at 9:30 a.m. rain or shine, is presented by the Rockapulo Run Series and Friends of Crush Cancer Fund For Clare. It is a special fundraiser event to help pay the high medical costs of 29- year old Clare Droesch, the former Christ the King and Boston College basketball star, who was recently diagnosed with stage four breast cancer.
Droesch was a former girls assistant coach at the Scholars’ Academy in 2011 when they captured their first ever PSAL ‘B’ varsity championship. She is currently the varsity girls assistant coach at St. Edmund Prep.
The Crush Cancer Fund was set up by friends through a 501 © (3) nonprofit organization through the Graybeards, to help pay for the high medical care costs.
The Clare Fund Run is $25 to register online at www.rockapulcorun.com. Race day shirt and number pick up can be made at Connolly’s at 155 Beach 95 Street from 8 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. There will be a $30 registration on the day of the race. There will be an awards presentation and more following the completing at Connolly’s.
There will be an after race party at the Bungalow Bar on Beach 92 Street and Beach Channel Drive from 12 to 3 p.m., with a $25 drink special, a regular brunch menu special available as well as a cash bar.
