LeRoy Ferguson

Tool and Die Maker

LeRoy Ferguson, a longtime Rockaway resident, died March 16.

Ferguson was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut and moved to Rockaway 17 years ago from Glendale, New York. He was a tool and die maker who also served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Ferguson was a member of First Congregational Church, active member of JASA and Seaside Senior Centers and an avid aviation buff and pilot.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Plotkin; daughter, Joyce Farrell; son, Douglas Ferguson; sisters, Celeste Mecabe and Ann; grandchildren, Jennifer, Lori, Richard and Drew; greatgrandchildren, Heather, Ralph, Ryan, Jessica and Kimberly; Betty’s children and grandchildren, Judy, Sarah, David, Michael, Loren, Ellie, Annie and Cara.

Funeral arrangements and service were entrusted to the Denis S. O’Connor Funeral Home, Rockaway Beach.
