Rockaway Has Good People

Dear Editor,

I would like to set the record straight about the honesty and integrity of the people of Rockaway. I have heard so many derogatory statements about the people that live in my community, I think it is about time some one sets the record straight.

Monday March 12th, I was going to get a manicure and pedicure; so I brought my Kindle so I could relax and read my book. After having my toes and nail done, I had to go to Waldbaum’s to pick up a few items. I went to the self-check out and put my Kindle down and scanned my purchases. I packed them and paid for them, picked up my pocket book and left, leaving my Kindle behind.

This morning, Tuesday March 13th, I went to read my book and could not find it. I tried to remember when I had it last. Then it occurred to me, I probably left it at the supermarket. I called and spoke to a customer representative Alan, who was very professional and he said yes they had my Kindle. He also told me he would put my name on it, and exactly where it would be, as he would not be there by time I came in.

So, I would like to say thank you to the honest person who returned my Kindle, and thank you to Alan for being professional and thank you Rockaway for proving we are honest and we do have integrity!

BARBARA J. MORRIS
