Ill-Informed Coverage

Dear Editor,

We are just a few of the experienced registered nurses dedicated to quality health care and patient safety at Peninsula Hospital. Speaking for many we need to say how grossly disappointed we are with your recent biased, illinformed coverage of our hospital.

On March 9th you quoted an anonymous “nurse” who expressed a lack of confidence in Peninsula’s ability to recover. Well we’re here to tell you we are not anonymous and we have unwavering faith in Peninsula’s ability to not only recover but flourish. Under the leadership of Revival we are on the way to becoming a state of the art health care institution. They have been here less than seven months but every day we see them demonstrate their commitment to PHC and this community.

We acknowledge we’ve had some serious problems, but we are learning from our mistakes and rectifying them. Each of us is making every sacrifice possible to ensure our hospital’s recovery. If you would have just taken the time to speak to any one of us instead of quoting “anonymous” and “an insider” your article would have been quite different because…..

We believe! Our belief is what kept us open this past summer, our belief is what drew Revival Health Care to us; our belief is what is supporting our Board of Directors as they continue to ensure that we will be here to take care of you and your families for many years to come.

All we need is for you to believe, and to support us in our efforts to bring quality, safe healthcare back to the Rockaways.
