St. Rose Sixth Grade Defeats St. Francis

The undefeated St. Rose sixth grade basketball team prevails in the battle of the Peninsula with a 50-38 win over St. Francis in the Brooklyn-Queens playoff CYO game.

The St. Rose boys played extremely hard, winning a tough and hard fought game with St. Francis. Puda Edmound led the team on both offense and defense with 19 points and many steals even in foul trouble.

Down by 6 points going into the third quarter, St. Rose persevered, showcased by tenacious defense from Sa’Veon Hicks, Sam Amato, who also had 2 points, and Michael Reardon.

St. Rose lead by 4 points going into the fourth quarter. During that quarter, St. Rose made big shots and supplied great defense. Richard Rowe, Liam Malsy, Charlie Bostwick and Kobie Thomas each scored 8 points. Dave Greenridge was missed.

On Saturday, March 17, the boys will be playing Our Lady Of Trust, from Brooklyn at Cathedral Prep High School at 12 p.m.

The boys are looking for a lot of support as they try to go to the final four for the first time. Coaches Stacy Bostwick and Jimmy Walsh are very proud of them.
