Sister Dolores Foster
Sister Dolores Foster, a former Rockaway resident, died March 8 in Brentwood, New York.
She was a Sister of St. Joseph for 53 years. Sr. Dolores served as a teacher at St. Christopher’s Schools in Baldwin, New York for more than 30 years and until recently, cared for the Sisters of St. Joseph in Stella Maris Convent, Rockaway Park.
Foster was preceded in death by her parents, Helen and Joseph Foster; brothers, Raymond, Francis and Gerard; and sister, Helen Fee.
She is survived by her sisters, Mary Doherty (Hugh), Dorothy McDermott and Patricia Engelke (John); brothers, Joseph (Victoria) and Donald Foster; sisters-in-law Grace and Dorothy Foster; her eighteen nieces and nephews and the Sisters of St. Joseph of Brentwood with special mention of her beloved friend, Sister Mary Kenneth Lane.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Maria Regina Residence, Sisters of St. Joseph, Brentwood, New York.
