Arverne Man Dies In Rear-End Crash

The accident took place at Rockaway Boulevard and Brookville Boulevard. The accident took place at Rockaway Boulevard and Brookville Boulevard. An Arverne resident was killed on Sunday, March 4, when the car he was driving rear-ended a box truck, police said.

Local police sources identified the deceased as Joseph Brown, 29, of 51-15 Almeda Avenue.

Brown was killed while driving a white Nissan Maxima around 4 a.m. on Sunday night, according to the Deputy Commissioner of Public Information for the New York City Police Department.

Brown was traveling with three passengers southbound on Rockaway Boulevard near Brookville Boulevard, according to the NYPD.

He was in the middle lane when he hit a white Mitsubishi box truck ahead of him, police said.

EMS arrived on the scene and pronounced Brown dead, according to local sources.

The three passengers, along with the driver of the box truck, were all taken to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center and listed in stable condition, police said.

No criminality is suspected, police said.
