That’s been the story for this winter and with the sea and air temperatures giving increased awareness to dare I say global warming, well on any given day if one happens to pass the ocean birds can be seen working over schools of fish. Not just any fish but striped bass. Which leads us to the thought that it’s a no brainer when the season opens for striped bass on April 15, we should be in for some immediate action?

Hmm, funny thing, though fish have fins, they swim and more often than not just when you think you have them figured out; well human beings are creatures of habit fish aren’t. Still if I was a gambling man I’ll bet on an early spring.

Locally ling and cod are hitting the decks around this area more ling than cod. Head east and it seems like they’re getting another shot of cod something to think about. Up north Rhode Island and Massachusetts seem to be fairing a little better. Well until the next tide ...
