End Of An Era For Breezy Point Beach Clubs

The National Park Service announced this week that for the first time since the clubs came into existence in the late 1960s, a new operator has been selected to run the The Silver Gull Club and The Breezy Point Surf Club. The new operator, New Mexico-based Ortega National Parks LLC, will assume control of the two clubs on April 1 and plans for them to be open in time for the 2012 season. The new concessionaire contract awarded by NPS through a competitive open bidding process is good for ten years. See story on page 17.
