PHC Hosts Successful Dental Seminar
On Friday, February 3, the Peninsula Hospital Dental Society hosted another in its Visiting Professors seminar services at The Sands in Atlantic Beach. Dr. Henry Salama, a part of the highly acclaimed Team Atlantic Dental Group in Georgia, gave this month’s presentation to a packed audience of dentists from all over the metropolitan area. “Bringing world class doctors to our community ultimately benefits our patients by elevating the skills of local general and specialty dentists without having them experience the inconveniences of traveling into the City,” said Leonard Schiffman, D.M.D., Director of Peninsula Hospital Center’s Department of Dentistry and Maxillofacial Surgery and Director of the Dental Society’s programming. The most recent presentation by Dr. Salama followed a standing-room-only presentation in January by Dr. Denis Tarnow, renowned dental implantologist of Columbia University. “The continued success of this seminar series in our community is another sign of the renewed vitality of the new Peninsula Hospital Center,” says Schiffman. “Like Peninsula Hospital Center, I believe that the programs and services our hospital offers will continue to attract physicians and patients by clearly demonstrating that they do not need to leave the peninsula to receive high quality care and education.”
The Visiting Professors series is open to all licensed dentists and will continue through May 2012. University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s Dr. Edward Swift is the March presenter. Any licensed dentist wishing to attend should contact Peninsula Hospital Center’s Department of Dentistry.
