SFDS School Hosts After School Clubs

When the school bell rings at the end of the day most school halls turn to silence, but not the halls of St. Francis de Sales School. The students at St. Francis have been busy participating in a variety of new after school clubs. There is homework help, whiffle ball, the Irish and Italian Clubs and the Chess Club to name a few.

A few of the most popular ones are the Sewing Club and the Internet Art Club. Second- and third-graders participating in the art club are being taught art through the use of technology. An artist in California is instructing students via the Internet and the Smartboard. What a great way to utilize technology in today’s world! All the students participating in the program, whether they are learning to checkmate, thread a needle, or turning shapes into masterpieces, are engaged and excited to continue their learning past the ringing of the school bell.
