Teams Start Their Road To The Final Four

It was another successful week of playoff games for the SFDS girls as each team won its game. Pee Wee H defeated OLBS 13-5. The Novices used a 7-0 run in the fourth quarter to beat St. Matthias 24-20 as Ryan Carlton scored 12 and Kelsey Flynn 6. The Bantams won easily against St. Luke as did the Rookies against Our Lady of the Snows.

The Intermediates faced the toughest task and rose to the challenge beating Our Lady of Hope 38-30. The Rookies have advanced to the Final Four on February 25. The other teams play their quarterfinal games this Saturday, with a convoy travelling from Belle Harbor to College Point as the Pee Wee, Bantam, and Intermediate squads all play at St. Agnes High School. Pee Wee H plays St. Helen at 2:15 p.m. The Bantams follow at 3:15 p.m. against Good Shepherd. The Intermediates wrap things up at 5:30 against St. Gabriel.

The Novices are on their own in traveling to St. Joan of Arc at 5:00 p.m. against St. Mary Winfield. The teams look forward to reaching the CYO Final Four and are also preparing for the Peggy Boyle Tournament at SFDS, which begins on February 25. The Boys finish their regular season this weekend and travel to South Windsor, Connecticut next weekend before beginning playoffs on February 25. Playoff matchups will be released this week.
