I applaud Assemblyman Goldfeder for answering the call to get involved in restoring the Rockaway Rail Line. He gets how important this would be to us, and he seems to believe it’s feasible. He opposes the Forest Hills bike lane which would eliminate the rail line’s easement.
But we need more than just opposition. We need a loud, brash proponent for this project. Will you, Assemblyman Goldfeder, propose and push legislation to restore the rail line? Will you, Councilman Ulrich, advocate for the transfer of the White Pot Junction property from NYC to the MTA to get the ball rolling? The leader who accomplishes this (and removes the tolls) would never want for votes in Rockaway again.
