Sorrentino Recreation Center Happenings

The Sorrentino Recreation Center street hockey team finalists. The Sorrentino Recreation Center street hockey team finalists. Sorrentino Recreation Center advanced to the Parks Department street hockey championship game in a thrilling shoot out by winning 2-1 at the end of regulation in the semifinals game against Lost Battalion Hall Recreation Center.

The staff of Sharif Elis, Daryl Cherry, and Recreation Director Stan Brown guided the team from Sorrentino Recreation to a hard fought second place win. The team finished runnersup to Al Oerter in the championship game.

The Sorrentino Center has created their first 21-29 year old “Joy of Life’ Basketball Tournament starting on January 17. The first game between the “Up the Beach” team against “Rich and Famous” was won by “Up the “Beach” in a thrilling finish. The second game between “Long Beach” against the “Corner Boys” was won by “Long Beach”. All games are played on Tuesday starting at 7 p.m.

Sorrentino Recreation Center has begun the 30+ Quality of Life Basketball Tournament on January 19.
