PS47Q Presents Lego Robotics Club: Builds Math and Tech Skills
Jessica Geier reviewing the instructions. Jessica Geier, fourth-grade teacher at PS 47Q, has begun a Lego Robotics Club at the school. The students are presently working in small groups to create robots using Mindstorm Robotic Kits provided through a grant. After the robots are assembled, the students will program them, via the computer, to perform various mechanical functions. Lego Robotics allows the students to be innovative as they further develop mathematics and technology skills. The club meets every Friday afternoon. One day they hope to participate in a Lego Robotic competition.

A popular Lego Robotics kit, such as the one pictured here, is one of the many possible creations that have captured kids’ imaginations at PS47Q in Broad Channel.
