Pro Boxer Goes Back To The Sunshine State Quest For Second Victory
Trevis Hall landed in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on Monday as the 25- year-old professional boxer just escaped the cold weather that finally arrived in Rockaway.
Hall wasn’t trying to escape the cold Northeast to bake in the sunny shores of Florida. The featherweight boxer is preparing for his second pro fight on Saturday against Jessy Cruz at the Western Diplomat Resort in Hollywood, Florida. In his first pro fight, Hall proved victorious on August 12 in a four-round bout against Sergio Aguilar. Hall had tried for his second win last October, but his scheduled opponent pulled out after suffering an injury days before the fight.
“I was looking forward to fighting again. It was a little discouraging waiting and waiting,” Hall said. “Once you get a fight, you step into your training, you step up a notch once you got a set date. There’s no slacking.”
Hall will take on the southpaw Cruz, who is 4-4 in his career, on Saturday night,startinga7p.m.,aspartofa fight card that will be shown on the Telefutura Network. He aims to improve on throwing a lot more shots to the body, and working on becoming a more complete fighter. A victory can also improves his chances into signing a contact with a boxing promtion.
“I believe once I get this fight and I get the victory, I’ll be able to have a lot more fights,” Hall said. “This is a showcase type of fight. I’m ready to work hard.”
