Some Of The Best Around
Thanks to Butterflies by the Sea Hospice Unit.
Last March my Mom and I attended a Fundraiser at the Knights of Columbus for the Hospice which had opened at Peninsula Hospital with Dr. Martin Grossman as Medical Director. It was a wonderful evening and I was delighted that my donation went to such a wonderful and much needed organization in Rockaway.
I did not know at that time that nine months later my Mom would become a patient at the Hospice. A few weeks ago my mom’s oncologist recommended we look into hospice care and suggested Peninsula Hospital Hospice, Butterflies by the Sea Unit. We had heard wonderful things about the Hospice in addition to it being located close to home. I was impressed by how professionally the nurses and the nursing assistants cared for their patients. They treated my mother with dignity, kindness and respect. I could see how caring each individual was as they knew this patient was approaching her final journey in life. I realized how special each one of the nurses; Laura, Mary Elizabeth, Grace, Bisi, Lea, Ella, and how wonderful the nurses assistant’s were, especially Gaitrie, Jennifer, Dahlia, Lurine, Luciene and Brenda, who I believe are angels.
Rockaway is blessed to have such a wonderful organization in our neighborhood. If you are looking for an opportunity to donate to a worthy cause, I would suggest Butterflies by the Sea, Peninsula Hospital Center HOSPICE. I thank the staff for caring and for their professionalism, not only to the patients, but also to their family members.
