Romulo, 37, had his first amateur bout in 1996 at the age of 21. Since then, he has won five amateur titles and one professional title and retires with the following record: Professional Muay Thai: 13-3 (10), Amateur Muay Thai: 18-3-1 (7), Amateur Shoot-wrestling: 3- 2 (1).

Romulo was a “fighter’s fighter” known for his knockout power, stamina and technical precision. He battled against the finest national and international Muay fighters.

One of Romulo’s most notable accomplishments in the sport was his defeat of Sean Hinds for the WKA Super-Middleweight North American title in 2010 and claiming bragging rights for NYC, a match 10 years in the making.

He put NYC on the map in the biggest fight of his career in Lion Fight Promotion’s “Battle in the Desert II” in Las Vegas (2011). In 2009, Romulo was selected alongside mixed martial arts stars Jason “Mayhem” Miller and Scott “Hands of Steel” Smith as a spokesperson for the American-based anti-bullying campaign, “Bullying...We’re Kickin’ It.” Romulo has continued his work with the anti-bullying campaign as a spokesperson and mentor.

Romulo will continue to be involved in the Muay Thai community as a trainer, educator and ambassador for the sport.

In 2010 he opened CROM Martial Training in Rockaway Beach where he provides group and individual instruction in Muay Thai, boxing classes for kids, teens and adults as well as street defense and strength and conditioning.

He also continues to train private clients in an integration of Muay Thai, personal defense, boxing and fitness training out of Velocity Sports Performance in Midtown Manhattan.

Most recently, Romulo became the only certified instructor in the NYC metro area to teach Tony Blauer’s PDR fundamentals curriculum. P.D.R. or Personal Defense Readiness is based on the S.P.E.A.R. system, the study of human movement as it relates to violence, fear and aggression.

Romulo plans to integrate the PDR system into his already broad-based curriculum to become the most versatile martial arts and personal defense coach in the country.
