Aubrey Hermanstyne II
Aubrey Hermanstyne II, 29, a lifelong Rockaway resident, died December 6.
Hermanstyne was born in Queens, New York on February 6, 1982. He was a member of the Community Church of God in Christ where he participated in the Sunshine Band and youth development since the age of two. He later joined the Pentecostal House of Prayer and Deliverance where he assisted youth leaders, attended many youth conferences and conventions and sang with the youth ensemble.
He is survived by mother, Mary Hermanstyne Washington (Minister Daniel Washington); father, Aubrey Michael Hermanstyne, Sr. (Debbie); brothers, Tyrice Perry, Jermaine Hermanstyne, Corey Washington and Chris Washington; sisters, Cathy Hermanstyne, Shamika Norton, Ranelsa Inniss, Alexis and Amber Hermanstyne; grandparents, Maude Defreitas, Nellie Carr-Cuffie and James Cuffee; godchildren, Talisha and Tanasia Wells and Drewell Kennedy; Jamie, Shawanda, Keisha, Kim and Elder McClaren; aunts and uncles, Willie S. Calloway, Linda Carr, Pastor Willie Carr (Renae), Sydell Wilson (Larry), Donley DeFreitas (Janet), Leon Benfield, Claudette Nurse, Carol DeFreitas, Janet Edwards (Orin), Laverne Evelyn (Michael), Brian Hermanstyne (Corinza), Michael Hermanstyne (Karla), Roy Hermanstyne (Melonie) and Melonie Pyle; niece, Samira; nephew, Tiaquan; cousin, Storm; as well as a host of other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, godparents, seven godsisters, five godbrothers and many extended church family members and friends.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Jeremiah C. Gaffney Friendship Chapel, Inwood, New York. A funeral mass took place at Community Church of God in Christ, Far Rockaway. Interment followed at Pinelawn Memorial Cemetery, Farmingdale, New York.
