Graham Place, Rockaway Point, New York

Historical Views of the Rockaways
From The Rockaway Museum Commentary by Emil Lucev, Curator Dedicated To The Memory Of Leon S. Locke

Graham Place, in the southeast corner of the Breezy Point cooperative, is near the beachfront on both sides of Bedford Avenue. Reid Avenue is on the east end and Seventh Avenue is on the west end.

At one time, ocean waves broke just to the south of Graham Place, but since the installation of the rock hook jetty in the early 1930s, the breakers are further south due to sand buildup.

This view presents the east side of Graham Place; Reid Avenue is in the background, the beach is to the right, and the bay is to the left. The place looks neat and tidy. Aey!
