Elijah Ingram Sr.
Elijah Ingram Sr., 76, a longtime Rockaway resident, died December 10.
Ingram was born in Americus, Georgia on December 24, 1934. He was a bus driver and member of the Allen Chapel in Georgia where he sang for many years as a “Spiritual Quartet Singer.”
Ingram was preceded in death by his son, Isaiah.
He is survived by his wife Juanita Ingram; children, Gwendolyn Davis, Patricia Frye, Elijah Ingram Jr., Lois Ingram, Cynthia Ingram, Anthony Ingram, Marita Ingram, Lorenzo Ingram, Nathaniel Ingram, Norbert Ingram and Linda Norman; sister, Frances Ingram; sister-in-law, Dessie Floyd; brother-in-law, James Martin Sr.; sons-in-law, JC Davis, and Walter Gregory Frye Jr.; daughters-in-law, Valerie Ingram and Deborah Ingram; 25 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Jeremiah C. Gaffney Friendship Chapel, Inwood, New York. Interment followed at Forest Springfield Cemetery, Springfield Gardens, New York.
