Ursula Querrard, a 20-year Rockaway resident, died December 10.
Querrard was born in Tortola, St. Thomas. She served many years as an EMT and as a Civil Defense volunteer in the Virgin Islands, before moving to New York in the early 1980s. She was a Home Health Aid and a Union Delegate for 1199 SEIU, member of the PTA and leader in Girl Scout Organization.
Querrard was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Querrard Sr. and her son, Charles (Chuckie) Querrard.
She is survived by her children, Randolph, James, Carl, Florencia, Angela and Joanna; brother, Haldeen; sisters, Lydia, Frances, Beulah, Christie and Grassila; grandchildren, Oheim, Simba, Jheri, Nikyjah, Latoya, Shana, Ashley, Janice and Chayla; and many more grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Denis S. O’Connor Funeral Home, Rockaway Beach. Visitation will take place on Friday, December 16, from noon to 5 p.m. followed immediately by a funeral home service. Disposition will remain private.
