SJEH Sets Childbirth Classes

If you are expecting, prepared childbirth classes can help you get ready. Learning what to expect with cesarean delivery, pain medications, and the warning signs of pre-term labor are just some of the topics covered at these classes for pregnant women and their birthing coaches. Taught by certified prepared childbirth educators, the classes are held in three sessions at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital at 327 Beach 19 Street.

The classes will be held on Thursday, January 5, 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.; Thursday, January 12, 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and Wednesday, January 18, 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Other topics the classes will cover include relaxation exercises, exercises for pregnant women, nutrition, breast and bottle feeding, stages of labor, post-partum depression, and taking care of yourself and your baby.
