Noted Expert To Speak About Anti-Semitism
Kenneth Stern, the American Jewish Committee’s program specialist on anti-Semitism and extremism, will be the guest speaker at West End Temple during Shabbat services on Friday evening, December 16 at 7:30 pm.
Stern, an attorney and nationallyrecognized expert on American hate groups, is the author of the widely acclaimed “A Force Upon the Plain: The American Militia Movement.” An earlier report, “Militias: A Growing Danger,” released two weeks before the Oklahoma City bombing, predicted such attacks on government. In addition, his book “Holocaust Denial” was the first comprehensive look at this form of anti-Semitism. Stern has been instrumental in developing a new curriculum at U.S. universities to study the evolution of hate and ways to counter its spread. He has testified before Congress and appeared on news programs such as CNN, Face the Nation, Good Morning America, Nightline, Dateline, the CBS Evening News and National Public Radio.
Stern is also married to West End Temple’s Rabbi Marjorie Slome. West End Temple is located at 147-02 Newport Avenue in Neponsit. For more information, please call 718-634- 0301.
