Robert Clemont, 60, a longtime Rockaway resident, died October 9.
Clemont was born in Louisburg, North Carolina. He lived in Far Rockaway for more than 55 years. He served in the U.S. Army and belonged to St. John’s Baptist Church.
Clemont was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy; and grandmother, Mary Brown.
He is survived by his father, Albert McSwain; sister, Allison; brothers, Zaid, Tarik and Willie; children, Akuan, Nyjer and Donnell; grandchildren, Raven, Quabillah, Shayla, Danrelle, Shaquan, Lamont and Antwan; daughter in-law, Shaquana; six nephews, two aunts, Rev. Payton and Maxine; godmother, Mrs. C.L. Overstreet; uncle, JT; three special young adults, Makeba, Tyrone and Jamal; lifelong friends, Thomas, Jerome, NDuka and Akuan, Sidney, Rudy, Albert, David, Angelo, Annette, Valerie, Loretta, Richard and Diane Kelly, Tokae, Jeffery, Fred, Mrs. E. Hamp and family, Mrs. T. Brown and family and the Lewis Family; cousins, Joe, Mary, Sonia and Carly; and a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Jeremiah C. Gaffney Friendship Chapel, Inwood, New York. Disposition took place at St. Michael’s Crematory, East Elmhurst, New York.
