Pepper Steppers Win Double Dutch Tournament
The Pepper Steppers high school team of Shamera Davis, Akeela Williams, Alaina Reynolds and Tiana Dixon earned the highest speed honors at the New York American Double Dutch League Tournaments.
Teams from Albany, New Jersey, Bellport, the five boroughs and Boston also competed in the tournament.
The Pepper Steppers sister team, Mrs. Brown’s Jumpers from Sports and Arts School Foundation located at Public School 40 in Brooklyn won first place in the third, fourth and fifth grade divisions.
The team is coached by Linda Brown and Lloyd Webber-Bey, director of the Sports and Arts School Foundation.

The Sorrentino Center will have three flag football teams competing in the NFL/PAL/Parks and Recreation Flag Football Citi-Wide championships on Saturday.
The event will be held at Macombs Dam Park, located right next to Yankee Stadium and will start at 10 a.m.Sorrentino’s three teams each captured the Queens title in their respective divisions on November 12 at Bush Park.
The Sorrentino Raiders will compete in the 8-11 year old division. The Sorrentino Grimey are in the 12-14 category and the Sorrentino Deuce are in the 15-17 year old division. The coaches for the teams are Stan Brown, recreation director and Robert Lindo, recreation specialist.
The coordinator for the three teams is Chaleene Nash, who is also the manager of the Sorrentino Center.
