Anka Sings Christmas Songs HisWay

Paul Anka’s brand new album is “Songs of December” and he brings his Christmas My Way Concert Tour to the NYCB Theatre at Westbury on Saturday, December 3 at 7 p.m.

“Songs of December” is the first seasonal recording from music icon Paul Anka in more than 50 years. Recorded at both the legendary Capitol Studios and Ocean Way Recording Studio in Los Angeles, California, “Songs of December” features 11 holiday classics produced by the original ‘teen idol,‘ Paul Anka. The album includes guest arrangements by David Foster, Johnny Mandel, Patrick Williams and Chris Walden and was engineered and mixed by the legendary Al Schmitt.

“Music has always filled my home, especially around the holidays, and when the idea of recording these seasonal standards came about, I couldn’t resist,” comments Anka. “I hope that my interpretation of these ‘Yuletide’ chestnuts will fill your home with joy and good cheer.”

For many people, winter marks a special period of closeness with family and friends – and the height of the holidays brings with it the bounty of seasonal songs known by heart and sung with joy in living rooms and street corners everywhere. Paul Anka puts his own personal touch to these sentiments with “Songs of December.” The holiday classics on the album are “Let It Snow,” “Christmas Song,” “I’ll Be Home For Christmas,” “Winter Wonderland,” “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year,” “White Christmas,” “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas,” “Santa Claus Is Coming to Town,” “Blue Christmas,” “Silver Bells” and “Silent Night/A Cradle in Bethlehem.”

Beginning his career by entering amateur contests and sneaking into clubs, Anka has gone on to become one of the most prolific, successful songwriters in history. Armed with a sense of tenacity as formidable as his talent, the entertainer has conquered many challenges over the course of the last five decades, forging a career that’s unlike any other in the history of popular music.

As he made the transition from ‘50s teen idol to celebrated songwriter to a contemporary torchbearer for all that swings, he has maintained a commitment to quality, bringing his best to whatever he faces.
