Rockaway Renegades Sweep Weekend Doubleheader

The Rockaway Renegades swept another doubleheader this weekend in the 10U NY Travel Fall Baseball League on Saturday. Facing off against Empire West, a team that traveled in from Manhattan, the Renegades started things off right with James Byrne and Jack Mullally combining on a no-hitter in game 1 as the Renegades took it 10-0 in a four inning mercy. Robbie Rose had 3 hits and 2 runs, Ryan Duffy had 2 hits and 2 runs, and Brendan Vazquez scored a run for the good guys. In game 2, Timmy Connolly, Chris Koenig and John Resker combined on a one-hitter as the Renegades took game 2, 11-3. Jack Casey was on base three times and scored a run, and Brian MacDonald was on base two times and scored a run. Good defense from Ryan Meade in both games helped Rockaway’s cause as well. The Renegades finished the season 9-1 and are the 2011 Fall Season Champs! Congratulations Guys!
