The Rockaway Youth Task Force and Donovan Richards, the chief of staff for Councilman James Sanders Jr. and an announced City Council candidate, kicked off a series of teen town hall meetings on November 2 at Ocean Bay Houses Community Center. Richards dubbed the evening, ‘Occupy Ocean Bay/Edgemere.’ Additional meetings across the peninsula’s housing projects will bring youth into the process of planning their own events. The plan is to act as a positive force for youth on both ends of Rockaway.
