Local residents and city daytrippers came out to hear Don Riepe as he led the group of 30 riders along the boardwalk, stopping at locations along the way selected as “sites of environmental or historical significance” by local community members. The winds made travel to Fort Tilden challenging but the ride back was a breeze!

The riders took a break at the Beach 97 Street concession for a clam bake and beer tasting hosted by Rockaway Brewing Company to enjoy time with family and friends.

The Rockspot Bike Tours are “virtual” tours that individuals can also do on their own with the Rockspot Bike map. To learn more about the Rockspot Bike Tours go to: www.rockspotnyc.org
