PHC Takes Part In National Food Day

Peninsula Hospital Center and Sodexo officially participated in National Food Day 2011. Food and Nutrition - Sodexo provided cooking demonstrations in the lobby and offered free samples of healthy lunches and healthy snacks along with the recipes. “Many people think that when a snack is described as ‘healthy,’ that means it’s not very tasty. This is completely untrue, so we prepared a variety of healthy snacks and the feedback was incredible! People kept stopping for seconds,” said Lisa Tripoli, who directed the day’s events. Special tastings and giveaways were part of the lunch “menu” as well. Additionally, throughout the month of October for Breast Cancer Awareness, both health and nutrition information was available in the cafeteria. Each year, Sodexo also collects donations for its food donation program, “Helping Hands.”
