SFDS Advances In Shootout Win Over Trinity

The fourth grade boys played Blessed Trinity in a game to break a fourth place tie and determine which team would extend its season into the playoffs. SFDS came out on top in the most exciting game of the season. The team was led by their goalie Matty McDonagh, who did not give up a goal, with the help of his defense, which included Luca D’Ambrosio, Jack Lindon and James Tuohey. Joseph Tammaro, Michael Breslin and Mikey McManus controlled the center of the field and assisted the offense in setting up plays and pressing forward. Ian Byrne, Kyle Cornish and Dominick Maiorano were consistently passing well to set up their teammates Joseph Featherston, Brendan Watters, Dante De Silvia and Jimmy Rigaut. Both teams played extremely well and at the end of regulation and overtime, the game was still tied 0-0, which took them into penalty kicks. With two exciting saves by McDonagh, and three perfectly placed shots by Byrne, Tammaro and D’Ambrosio, it was enough to give SFDS the edge, and in the end, a well deserved victory. Congratulations to the boys on their first playoff run and good luck on Saturday!
