16th Annual Surf Fishing Tournament

By Kevin J. Brown (Ret. L-121)

The sea was as angry as an old man sending cold soup back at a deli. The forecast was for a day of rain, but that didn’t stop the fishermen returning once again to the shore on October 14 to participate in the 16th Annual Surf Fishing Contest, honoring the memory of their friend Bobby Regan.

Superior barbeque meats were supplied by Curran’s on Beach 129 Street.

The sun broke out just as Randy, this year’s grand prize winner, caught his winning fish. Measured by the returning Judge George Murphy, whose presence graces the tourney every year.
