O’Brien Named Grand Marhsal

The Queens County St. Patrick’s Day Parade announce the selection of Kevin O’Brien, a native of Rockaway Beach, as the grand marshal for the 37th annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Rockaway Beach on Saturday, March 3, 2012.

O’Brien serves as sector leader of Gilbane’s Mission Critical Center of Excellence. He is a 32-year veteran of the engineering and construction industries specializing in mission critical facilities. His experience includes data centers for such clients as JPMC, Bank of America, Hellifax Bank of Scotland, Lowes, New York Stock Exchange, Credit Suisse, Merrill Lynch, Goldman Sachs and Digital Realty Trust. He holds an Associate Degree in Applied Science and Environmental Control Technology from NYC Community College and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering Technology from the University of Central Florida. O’Brien is an active member of Data Center Dynamics, 7X24 Exchange, AFCOM and the US Green Building Council.

A Rockaway beach surfer for the last 40 years, he resides in Middletown, New Jersey with his wife, Sue, and three children; son Kerry (27), daughters Blair (25) and Paige (19). Please check out the parade committee’s web site at www.queenscountyparade.org.
