The Kosmos girls’ U7 Tyche team played the last game of their 6- game season this past Sunday. Each one of the girls played an amazing game and should be so proud of the progress they made in such a short season. After losing the first three games of their season, the girls decided it was time to show the league that they had the eye of the tiger. They won their fourth game with a score of 2-0.

Tyche tied the fifth game of the season against a team that they had previously lost to with a score of 4-0. For their final game, they defeated Syosset, a team they had previously lost to by a score of 3-0.

The first goal of the game came from Jenna Colleran, who saw the opportunity from her midfield position, dribbled the ball, and blasted it into the corner of the net. Ciamonhe Gormley solidified the lead with the second goal of the game. Thanks to the team efforts of Brigit Butler, Caroline McEnroe, Tess Howley, Ava Mollahan, Kelsey Price, Ariana DiCarlo, Fallon Ris, Maggie Mc- Givor, Emily Harkins, Shannon Tuffey, Lily O’Neill and Mary Comer, the team was victorious in their final game of the season. As the girls say “1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8- Gooooo Kosmos!“

The Boys’ U7 team had their first solid win of the season!!! Sean Hanley and Owen Ryan each scored goals. The team came out strong. It was a different team than we have seen in past games. They were talking to each other and yelling out names to pass the ball and that was the key action of the day. The boys were looking for each other, everyone was playing his position.

Jo Jo Jenkusky showed some of his dazzling footwork. Randy Koenig, Owen Ryan, Jack Ryan, Henry McNamara, Sean Hanley and Liam Hughes each displayed their lightning speed.Ben Lindor, Colin Mullin, Jonathan O’Leary, John Leahy and Christian Knecht were the brick wall defense that hardly let the offense through. This group of young boys learned to play as a team this week, beating the competition 2-1.

The Kosmos Techno girls kept their winning streak alive by beating East Meadow by a score of 4-0. Goals in the game were made by Nicole Gibson, Erin Kennedy, Lauren Marten and Molly Breslin (scored with her head). The goals were made possible due to the passing and dribbling skills of Katie Sammon (2), Gwyn McGee and Nicole Gibson. The Kosmos girls once again took total control from the initial kickoff and maintained ball control the entire game. The girls made numerous overlapping runs and passes down the wing to keep the game spread out.

The holding midfielder positions maintained by Emma Meade, Lauren Marten, Nicole Gibson and Erin Kennedy kept the outside midfielders Kelly Santiago, Gwyn McGee, Bridget Breslin and Katie Sammon on their toes. The girls kept pressure up front with multiple passes towards the corners utilizing the outside speed.

The defensive players consisted of Allison Tipaldo, Devin Gavigan, Carli Bopp, Alex Berman and Meaghan La- Sorsa. They had it somewhat easy by playing more of a support role for the midfielders. Every touch the defensive squad had, they made it seem simple to move the ball about the field due to their heads-up style of play for this day. Goalkeeper Rose Fay Hadan had an easy game, making only a handful of saves, but making them count. The girls play the first place team this weekend and are hoping for another victory.
