BCAC Peanut Shamrocks Rock Farmingdale

The BCAC Peanut Shamrocks traveled to Farmingdale this past Sunday to take on the Titans.

QB Logan Hilgendorf started the day attempting a pass that fell just short, but would have gone for a TD. Lukas Weiss started the Shamrock scoring with a 10-yard touchdown run for a 6-0 lead. Joseph Esposito’s number was called on the second offensive series for the Shamrocks and he promptly scored his second touchdown of the season to take a 12-6 lead.

The score was tied 12-12 when Danny Ognian ran a sweep play from 5 yards out for his first TD of the season and an 18-12 Shamrock halftime lead. The Titans scored to open the second half to tie the game 18-18.

The Shamrock offense was ready to take control of the game. The offensive line of Jeremiah O’Shea, Lukas Weiss, Frankie Sinisgalli, Joseph Esposito and FB Hayden Malsy opened up a huge land and Matthew Stack made a nice cut to avoid a linebacker going 40 yards for his seventh touchdown on the season and a 24-18 Shamrock lead.

The Shamrock defense was called on to protect their lead. Lineman Brendan Henglein, Brian Keller, Hayden Malsy, Logan Hilgendorf (1 tackle each) and Frankie Sinisgalli (4 sacks, 6 tackles) along with linebackers Danny Ognian (2 tackles), Joseph Esposito (4 tackles), Lukas Weiss (6 tackles) and free safety Matthew Stack (6 tackles) forced a 4 and out protecting their lead. The offense knew they needed an extra score to keep the pressure on the Titans.

Frankie Sinisgalli’s number was called and he converted on three consecutive third downs, leading to a 5-yard touchdown up the middle, carrying several Titans along the way. The Shamrock defense came on to stop the Titan’s last comeback attempt, Frankie Sinisgalli and Matthew Stack made key tackles but it was another group effort that stopped the Titans on their final play of the game securing another Shamrock win.

The Shamrocks were without Aiden Leary and James Arena but will have them back in the lineup next week. The Peanut Shamrocks improved to 3-2-2 and look to add another win this Sunday 10:30 a.m. at BCAC Memorial Field for their final game of the season. Please come down and root for them as they complete a fantastic season.
