The maintenance workers at Dayton Beach Park, who have been on strike since July, held a last ditch rally on Wednesday evening to convince shareholders that they need to get back to work.

According to workers at the rally, they believe that the only way they will be able to settle a new contract and return to work is if the current board president is voted out of office during this week’s election. The rally took place across the street from 86-00 Shore Front Parkway.

The maintenance workers’ union, 32BJ SEIU, a property services union, says that negotiations with the current board have reached a stalemate. Workers are hopeful that people running in this week’s election, who have an interest in settling the contract, can defeat the current board.
