Ringgold Staying With OLTL Cast
Rockaway native Sean Ringgold, a permanent fixture on the popular soap opera “One Life To Live,” has been keeping busy lately. He’s the latest cast member to join the continuation of the program online and possibly on a cable network once it leaves ABC next year.
In addition, Ringgold told The Wave this week, he’s been cast to appear on the sitcom rendition of the Ice Cube production “Are We There Yet?”
Scheduled for two episodes on TBS, he will be appearing alongside cast member Terry Crew, among others, for two shows airing sometime in January 2012.
Ringgold had made reoccurring appearances as Shaun, a bodyguard, on “One Life to Live” for five years before he was offered the role on a contracted full-time basis last year; mainly because of his rising popularity in the role. The deal with Prospect Park, the media company responsible for claiming the rights to both “All My Children” and “One Life To Live,” has signed Ringgold to a four-year contract to continue his role in this new capacity.
Ringgold’s resume continues to grow as a working actor. He also appeared in this summer’s successful big screen adaptation of “Smurfs” and is currently featured in a national television commercial for Nexium and another for Fiat, alongside Jennifer Lopez.
Ringgold is a Rockaway native, former lifeguard and New York State arm wrestling champion. His career was launched when he landed a role as a real-life professional bodyguard for several high ranking celebrities and on the BET show “106 and Park,” which helped pave the way for his introduction into acting.
