The first occurred at about 6 p.m., when a man was shot in front of 14-30 Redfern Avenue in Far Rockaway. The second shooting occurred nearly five hours later and three miles away.

Police sources say that in the first shooting of the day, at 6:02 p.m., an unidentified 40 year-old man received a single gunshot wound to his neck, in front of 14-30 Redfern Avenue.

The victim drove himself home, and was then transported by family members to the North shore LIJ hospital.

Police say that in the second shooting of the day, at about 11:50 p.m. on that same day, two unidentified male gunshot victims showed up in the emergency room at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital in Far Rockaway.

Police were called and responded to the Beach 19 Street hospital.

The two victims told police that they were shot in front of 56-16 Beach Channel Drive one of the buildings in the sprawling Ocean Bay Houses.

The first victim, 31, received a single gunshot wound to his right forearm and one gunshot to his left lower leg.
