Late Touchdown Powers Peanut Shamrocks To Home Win

The BCAC Peanut Shamrocks hosted Wantagh this past Saturday night and were ready to display their talents under the BCAC Memorial Field lights. BCAC was led by their defense: linemen Brendan Henglein, Brian Keller, James Arena, Frankie Sinisgalli (each recording a tackle); linebackers Danny Ognian (2 tackles), Joseph Esposito (4 tackles), Lukas Weiss (5 tackles), Aiden Leary (1 tackle), Hayden Malsy (1 tackle); and safety Matthew Stack (5 tackles).

The defense made several stops throughout the contest forcing turnovers on downs, gang tackling and coming up big at the end of the game. The Shamrock offense had another big night.

The offensive line of Lukas Weiss, James Arena, Frankie Sinisgalli, Joseph Espositio and Danny Ognian were busy all night opening holes for the running game. Fullback Hayden Malsy had a big night throwing key blocks for his runningbacks.

Matthew Stack led the first score on a 25-yard touchdown run, his fourth of the season. Aiden Leary scored on a 30-yard run to tie the score in the second quarter. The Shamrocks were down 18-12 when Lukas Weiss ran a 23-dive play for a 35-yard touchdown to tie the game. The coaches again turned to Frankie Sinisgalli to carry them the rest of the game and he carried two defenders on his hip for the touchdown and a 24-18 BCAC win.

Wantagh had one last series and the Shamrock defense stopped them cold to seal the victory. The coaches are proud of their team, they are improving every week; go and see them over the next four weeks. Upcoming games include Sunday, October 9, 10 a.m. at West Babylon; Sunday, October 16, 10 a.m. at BCAC Memorial Field; Sunday, October 23, 9:30 a.m. at Farmingdale; Sunday, October 30, 10:30 a.m. at BCAC Memorial Field.
