Simon Is Appalling

Dear Editor,

I find it appalling that a politician needs to ask people to write letters on his behalf, to the local paper, so that he can receive self-praise. Lew Simon asked my son to write a letter for him, thanking him for saving Peninsula Hospital from closing.

Lew did this after I refused when he approached me. Though Lew may think he single-handedly saved the hospital from closing, by showing up at a few rallies with his megaphone, this was far from a one-man show. This was a collective effort on the part of the community.

The members of Peninsula Hospital, who through hard work and determination, began their fight to save the hospital back in May, and received the support of many people, who, too, have to be thanked for their help.

But in the end, it was the members of Peninsula Hospital who should applaud themselves for their fortitude and to Revival Home Care and Todd Miller for believing in us.

Another smear attempt! Lew

Another smear attempt! Lew Simon has been working for free for the community for decades and the thanks he gets is letters like this. I have known Lew for years and he has never asked me or anyone I know to write a letter to The Wave on his behalf.
