BCAC Celebrates 50th Anniversary With Dinner-Dance
The event was attended by many past and present BCAC players, coaches and members, including the first-ever BCAC president, John Wagner.
Many people traveled far to be there – from Las Vegas, Texas, Florida, Seattle and 15th Road. The celebration started with presentations from the evening’s host, Jack Conneely, and current BCAC president, Jack Allen. Bobby Steiner was also on hand to present the future of the BCAC Clubhouse and what it will take to get it there. Then the evening continued with a series of video tributes that showed the BCAC’s progression through the last five decades and what lies ahead for the future of the club.
At the end of the night there was a presentation to the Welsh family of Larry Welsh’s original #70 Shamrock game jersey. Jack Ogden was on hand to receive his BCAC Lifetime Achievement Award. Once the ceremony was over everyone danced the night away, caught up with old friends and made new ones by the end of the night. The event not only celebrated the multi sport organization that is the BCAC, but all the people who have kept it going for the last 50 years. The Broad Channel Athletic Club 50th Anniversary was a huge success and now has many wondering how they will top it for their 100th Anniversary.
