Peanut Shamrocks Battle North Bablyon In Season Opener

The 2011 BCAC Peanut Shamrocks opened the season against the North Babylon Bulldogs this past Sunday at BCAC Memorial Field.

The Shamrock defense featured linebackers Lukas Weiss, Aiden Leary, Matthew Stack; and defensive linemen Hayden Malsy, Danny Ognian, Brendan Henglein and Brian Keller; and free safety James Arena. Weiss led all Shamrocks in tackles. The Shamrocks were tested all day, yet improved as the game progressed against a good North Babylon offense.

The Shamrock offense was led by an explosive offensive line of Frankie Sinisgalli

(center), Jeremiah O’Shea, Landon Churchill and Logan Hilgendorf. QB Aiden Leary (10 yards rushing) was solid in leading the offense and handed off to running backs Matthew Stack (125 yards, TD), Lukas Weiss (5 yards) and Joseph Esposito.

Matthew Stack led the Shamrock offense with 125 yards rushing and their only touchdown of the game, giving thanks to the hard work of his offensive line. The coaches were proud of their 5- year-old Shamrocks who played hard all game, never giving up. They will travel to Brentwood this Sunday, September 18 for an 11 a.m. game.
