SFDS School Remembers 9/11
While our nation held memorial services around our country to mark the 10-year anniversary of September 11, 2001 the students and staff of St. Francis de Sales also remembered. The school celebrated its opening school liturgy in honor of 9/11 and the people lost that day. The students who played an active role in the mass by bringing up the gifts or doing a reading were chosen because they lost a close friend or relative in the attacks. The school also honored the day by having every student carry a flag of United States of America and then place them around the prayer garden, the rectory lawn, and the front lawn of the school grounds.
