The annual NYPD Rockaway Resource Day August 26 was the calm before the storm that hit over the weekend. Sunny skies and warm weather brought out hundreds to Bayswater Park as more than 70 vendors and agencies dispensed information. Locals took part in talent and fashion shows, children enjoyed bounce houses, and youth took part in a basketball competition. Entertainment included music, a martial arts presentation, and a demonstration by Stan’s Pepper Steppers. Attendees also enjoyed free hamburgers, hot dogs and drinks.
