By Daniel Solomon

An old A-4B Skyhawk An old A-4B Skyhawk Everyone knows about Floyd Bennett Field’s history as an airport for military planes and presidents. Now, on August 20, people will have the opportunity to meet some of Floyd Bennett’s famous aircraft.

The event, to be hosted by Rockaway historian Bernie Feuer at Hangar B at 1 p.m., will include a PowerPoint presentation on the back story of the planes stored in the hangar and a chance afterward for participants to get a closer look at the aircraft, which include the PBY Catalina, the A-4B Skyhawk, and the Grumman Goose.

If you’re interested in attending or want more information, you can contact Feuer by sending an e-mail to berniefeuer2@gmail.com.
