Memory Lane

Dear Editor,

I found your story on Weiss’ and it brought back many good memories. In 1956 Far Rockaway High held their Sports Award Dinner there. The dining room was filled with parents and students who were receiving their LETTERS. My parents were moving to Massapequa and I remember Coach Kershman asking them to let me stay with my grandmother so I could play on the baseball team in my senior year. My father and I would get dinner from the outside counter every Friday night as we headed for Rego Park to bowl. The food was the best and I did have the chow mein on a bun and it was good. I don’t know if you remember, but maybe we were students together at PS 106. I graduated in 1953.
