The Gallery Green – Rockaway Artists Alliance’s newest artfully fun summer mini-golf attraction. “Putters” of all ages came out to Fort Tilden as The Gallery Green mini-golf course, presented as a first for the Rockaway Artists Alliance, officially opened for the summer. Located at the sTudio 7 Building the outdoor ‘Green’ is part imaginative mini-golf challenge, part interactive art project and complete fun. The course, themed along the areas of art, the environment, history and the Rockaway experience, was created by local artists and craftsmen mostly using recycled and found items in new and different ways. Says RAA Treasurer Ross Radusky, “(It) combines the very best of art, recreation, and education; kind of like what we do (in partnership with) the Park.”

Contributing artists and builders include Chris Preston, Alyssa O’ Shea, Geoff Rawling, Thomas Pulkoski and Rick Taylor, Kevin Harnett and others. The Gallery Green will be open Saturdays and Sundays from 12 – 4 p.m. and Thursday evenings from 5 to 8 through September 4. Admission is by donation. The RAA invites all to come out, bring the kids and tee off!
